TreeKeeper Program

TreeKeeper Program

TreeKeeper is our signature program created to proactively protect one or more high value trees in any residential or commercial landscape.

TreeKeeper is our signature program created to proactively protect one or more high value trees in any residential or commercial landscape.

All TreeKeeper programs are custom-built for each property to address its particular vulnerabilities and mitigate the risk of potential tree loss. While each landscape is different, the strategy remains the same. First, our certified arborist will complete an inventory assessment to determine tree conditions and needs and then, design a custom treatment plan to protect them on an annual basis.

Inventory Assessment

This is where it all starts! It includes three components that if done well lead to success, but if done poorly often result in disappointment.

Part One: Identification

Includes identifying the tree species, tagging and collecting the GPS location (when needed), and with measuring size. This is important as different species or even cultivars have different needs. In trees there is not “one size fits all”. It requires a custom approach which is built built on the species and age of the trees in the landscape.

Part Two: Examination

A thorough evaluation of each individual tree for issues related to growth, pest or nutrition. This is based on the tree species, landscape location/placement and specific growing conditions.

The assigning of the general appraised value per guidelines of the Council for landscape plant appraisers.

The findings of this assessment are showcased in a detailed report given to every Tree BioLogics client with a corresponding map that pinpoints each tree’s location on the property.

Treatment Services

After the inventory assessment is complete, a treatment plan will be developed for an effective, cost efficient, budget-conscious protection plan. This can include one or more of the three management components depending on the assessment findings.

Growth Management

Pruning, cabling or chemical growth regulators recommendations are made for each individual tree which vary greatly depending on tree species, size (or age) and location. For example, certain maples require significant pruning to protection, while many oaks require very little intervention if any. All important current or future needs are factored.

Pest Management

Foliar sprays, root or trunk injection or bark sprays are prescribed for individual trees based on specific needs. It is important to note that most insect or disease pests are cosmetic and need no treatment. Our opinion is that a good protection plan has a primary focus on pests with the ability to kill, reserving pesticide use only for truly vulnerable trees. We also believe the treatment with the least environmental impact should be the first choice.

Nutrition Management

Macro and/or micro nutrient supplements are prescribed for each tree in the form of root or trunk injection. Fortunately, most established trees in the urban setting require little intervention. However, a few tree species have significant vulnerability to certain nutrient deficiencies that can result in decline and death if left unmet.
